Oath Keepers
The Oath Keepers, a large anti-government group, was formed in 2009 by Yale Law School graduate and former U.S. Army paratrooper, Stewart Rhodes. The group consists of current and former military, law enforcement and emergency first responders. Their stated purpose is to forever support the oaths they took when joining law enforcement or the military to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
Most members of the Oath Keepers have large personal collections of weapons and firearms. They are quick to mobilize and respond to any perceived threat from the government against U.S. citizens, although they have not been directly involved in any violent or criminal behavior.
The Oath Keepers is one of the largest, radical, anti-government organizations in the United States, boasting over 30,000 members as of 2016.
